#5 – 912 Community Day & Ribbon Cutting

VyStar Pavilion and Ghost Pirates Ice Cove at Anchor Park, 20 Anchor Park Blvd, Port Wentworth
Port Wentworth is throwing open the doors to something big, y’all! The 912 Community Day & Ribbon Cutting celebrates the grand opening of the brand-new VyStar Pavilion and Ghost Pirates Ice Cove — and the whole 912 is invited to the party.
Things kick off at 11:00 AM with ribbon cuttings at both venues, officially marking a new chapter for Port Wentworth, Savannah, and all of Coastal Georgia. Stick around for live music, family-friendly activities, inflatables, bounce houses, crafts, local vendors, food trucks, and yes — a mechanical bull! Don’t forget food and beverage deals at concessions, specials at The Frozen Anchor Sports Bar, and Georgia Bulldogs football on the big screens.
Over at Ice Cove, enjoy public skating (first come, first served), Jr. Ghost Pirates and Sirens exhibitions, figure skating showcases, and Learn to Play sessions. **Admission is free!**
#4 – GSU Men’s Hockey Season Opener

Lace up your excitement — it’s puck-dropping time! Join Port Wentworth Today as we cheer on the GSU men’s hockey team for their season opener at Ice Cove.

#3 – Patriot Day Celebration: Touch a Truck and Meet a Hero

Honor the heroes who protect our community at this heartfelt Patriot Day celebration! The day opens with a stirring Color Guard presentation, followed by live music from the Army Rock Band all afternoon long.

#2 – WagFest 2026

Calling all dog lovers! 🐶 Savannah’s biggest celebration of our four-legged friends is back at Guy Minick Park. Last year over 5,000 people joined the fun, and this year is set to be even bigger and better!
Whether you’ve got a playful pup or a seasoned senior sidekick, WagFest 2026 has activities for everyone. Plus, proceeds support local dog rescue organizations and community canine education programs — so every wag and purchase makes a real difference.

Kicking off our countdown at #1 is the event that started it all — the Live Like Locals September Social! Join us for a relaxed evening built around real conversation. Meet local business owners, city leaders, and neighbors who are shaping the Savannah area, all with zero pressure and zero formal agenda.
This month comes with a bonus: Kia Country is opening up the lot for **test drives** during the event! Tell us which model you’d love to test drive when you RSVP, and they’ll have it ready and waiting.
This event is free, but RSVP is required.
