Welcome to Live Like Locals, Mrs. B’s Sweet Kitchen.

There is something about a fresh loaf of bread that makes a house feel like home. The crackle of a golden crust, the smell that fills the kitchen, the first warm slice. Donna Benny knows that feeling well, and she has built a business around sharing it. Mrs. B’s Sweet Kitchen is a Port Wentworth home bakery where everything is mixed, shaped and baked by hand, and we are proud to welcome Donna as the newest member of the Live Like Locals community.

From Treats for Loved Ones to a Neighborhood Bakery

Mrs. B’s Sweet Kitchen started the way a lot of great kitchens do: baking for the people closest to her. What began as treats for family and friends grew into a home bakery committed to sharing that joy with neighbors across Port Wentworth.

Donna is the owner and the baker. She does the work herself, in small batches, and she puts real care into every order. Her approach is simple. Food is best when it is personal, and good bread cannot be rushed.

What Mrs. B’s Sweet Kitchen Bakes

The heart of the menu is artisan sourdough, made with slow fermentation and quality ingredients for deep flavor and a crisp, golden crust. The lineup changes with the seasons and the oven, and favorites include:

  • Artisan sourdough loaves, from a classic boule to jalapeño cheddar and seasonal pumpkin
  • Maple pecan sourdough sticky buns, soft and rich with a sticky, nutty top
  • Sourdough bagels and sandwich rolls for breakfast and lunch at home
  • Sourdough cookies, including s’mores, snickerdoodle, pecan chocolate chip, chocolate chip and white chocolate macadamia nut
  • Custom orders baked specifically for you

Orders are placed ahead and baked fresh, so what you pick up is made for you, not pulled off a shelf.

Baked With Care, and Done Right

Running a home bakery the right way takes more than a good recipe. Mrs. B’s Sweet Kitchen is a bakery registered with the Georgia Department of Agriculture, and Donna holds a food handler’s certification. For customers, that means you can order with confidence: handmade, small-batch baking from a kitchen that takes food safety as seriously as flavor.

Rooted in Community

Donna sees her bakery as more than a small business. It is a way to bring a little sweetness into local homes and build real connections with her neighbors. She is also looking forward to meeting more of the community in person at local markets, which makes her a natural fit for the Live Like Locals family of makers.
