Port Wentworth Today, November 2026: Garba Festival Recap, Fall Festival, New Businesses and Trunk or Treat

The November episode of Port Wentworth Today looks back on a big October and points you to what is next. Hosts Cheri Cobb and Dora Jenkins recap the city’s first Garba Festival and the Fall Festival and Movie Night, run down the new businesses heading to town, check in with the Rec Department, and close with an invitation to Trunk or Treat at City Hall this Saturday, October 31.
The first Garba Festival fills the VyStar Pavilion
Last month we told you Port Wentworth was hosting its first ever Garba Festival. On October 10 it happened, and the VyStar Pavilion at Anchor Park was full of color: bright outfits, live music and big circles of people dancing together. The promise was that no experience was needed, and it held. Families who had never danced Garba before were out on the floor learning one step at a time.
Garba comes from Gujarat, India, and the planning committee shared that tradition with the whole city. Thanks go to the City of Port Wentworth and Surti Samaj of Coastal Empire for bringing something brand new to the pavilion. That was the first annual, so the countdown to the second one has already started. See the photos in our Garba Festival recap.
Fall Festival and Movie Night on Cantyre Street
The Port Wentworth Fall Festival and Movie Night on October 16 had a little of everything: kids performing, bounce houses in the kid zone, food trucks, local vendors and a costume contest with some serious competition. When the sun went down, the movie went up on the big screen.
The scavenger hunt was a hit. It started at the Live Like Locals booth and ended at the Recreation booth, where hunters collected their prizes. If you were out there with a clue in one hand and a snack in the other, you know. Thank you to the Rec Department for another night the whole city got to enjoy.
