Port Wentworth Today, September 2026: The VyStar Pavilion, The Ice Cove, and La Fiesta Hispana

The lights are on at the VyStar Pavilion, the Ice Cove is almost here, and the Recreation Department wants your whole family out the door.
Here is what is happening in Port Wentworth this September.
The Pavilion’s First Two Concerts
The VyStar Pavilion hosted its first two concerts this month, and the venue was worth the wait.
First came the Sunset Jazz Festival, a soft opening and an easy first night to get the room warmed up.
Then Billy Currington and Kip Moore came through to a nearly sold-out house, and it was exactly what everyone hoped for and then some.
The project put more than 900 people to work over four years. Those are neighbors who built something the whole city gets to use. If the first two shows are any indication of what this place is going to be, this is only the beginning.
The Ice Cove and 912 Day
John Thompson, VP of Zawyer Sports, joined us at the last Local Social to talk about what comes next.
The Ghost Pirates Ice Cove has been almost two years in the making, and its grand opening lands on 912 Day.
“This is something that is going to bring everybody together,” Thompson said, “and really just make this venue the ideal spot for everybody.”
Come Out to a Local Social
If you have never been to a Local Social, consider this your personal invitation.
We host them the second Thursday of every month, and it has become one of the best ways to plug into what is happening in and around Port Wentworth.
Come meet your neighbors, connect with local businesses, and swap ideas with the people building this community alongside you. Whether you are there to network, to grow your business, or just to make new friends, you are welcome.
Upcoming dates are at livelikelocals.tv.

It is free and open to the public.
La Fiesta Hispana at the Pavilion
On Friday, September 25, La Fiesta Hispana comes to the VyStar Pavilion.
It is a celebration of Hispanic culture with food trucks and vendors, hosted by the City of Port Wentworth, with Venezuelan salsa band Los Adolescentes performing live.
Festivities run from 5:30 to 9:00 PM, with fireworks at 9:00. Admission is free, so bring the whole family.
